NWC Baseball Position Student-Athlete of the Week - Feb. 9-15, 2015

ERIC LAWSON, Linfield

Junior, Third Base, Mill Creek, Wash. / Archbishop Murphy HS

 

Lawson scored four runs and drove in a team-high seven on two doubles and his first career triple and home run as fourth-ranked Linfield went 3-1.  Making his first career start as the leadoff hitter in game 1 against Oregon Tech, he sent the third pitch of the game over the fence and supplied two more extra-base hits (doubles) as part of a 3-for-4 outing.  He was 2-for-5 in a win over Puget Sound, and drove in three runs in the second OIT game.  He batted .353 (7-16) for the week with a .765 slugging percentage and .421 on base percentage.  Defensively, he was perfect in 12 chances at third base.
