Softball Position Student-Athlete of the Week – Mar. 20-26, 2017

 

MALLORY ASARO, Willamette

Senior, Shortstop, Rocklin, Calif. / Rocklin HS

 

Asaro hit .529 (9-17) in Willamette’s 5-0 week with five runs, eight RBIs, four doubles and two home runs. She was 2-2 on stolen bases while earning a 1.118 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage.  She had at least one RBI and one hit in all five games.  She had a double in each game in 11-3 and 5-4 wins over Pacific Lutheran on Monday, and went 3-4, 2-4, and 2-4 in 12-11, 6-4, and 9-2 wins over Puget Sound on Saturday.  In the continuation of a suspended game against UPS, she opened the top of the 9th with a single and went on to score the go-ahead run. She had hit a home run earlier in that game then smacked a homer in the first game of the doubleheader later on Saturday and had two doubles in the final game.
