Steve Flegel is in his 10^th year as the Northwest Conference Information Director.  He has primary responsibility for updating conference statistics, standings and schedules, as well as making reports to the National Collegiate Athletics Association. 

In addition to his duties with the NWC, Flegel has worked at Whitworth University since 1992.  His current title is Assistant AD for Sports Information.  He has also served the school as Assistant Aquatics Director from 1994 through 1998 and as Assistant Swimming Coach from 1992 through 1999.

Prior to working at Whitworth, Flegel spent a year working for the Spokane Spokesman-Review as a stringer and local sports correspondent. 

From 1989-92, Flegel was the Director of Youth Ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church in San Carlos, California.

Flegel graduated from Whitworth in 1989 with a degree in Psychology, then picked up another B.A. in 1992 in English with a Language Arts emphasis.

Flegel was selected by his peers as the NWC SID of the Year in 2005-06, the initial year of this award.  He has also received the AVCA Grant Burger Media Award  - for the NCAA Division III West Region in 2005-06.
