Katie is in her second year with the Northwest Conference staff after completing her governance internship at the NCAA as part of the 2007-08 internship class. Her duties included creating documents sent out to membership institutions, assisting in the coordination of the association-wide committee process and staffed NCAA championships and events, including the role of primary liaison for the 2008 Division II Men's Golf Championship.
Prior to the NCAA, Katie earned her undergraduate degree at Boise State University with a bachelor of business administration in business economics. During her undergraduate studies, she received Boise State's Outstanding Graduate in Economics and the President's Award for Leadership Excellence. Katie also worked in the Boise State compliance office in her senior year.
Along with her academic honors, Katie was a four-year letter winner of the Boise State women's golf team, the Western Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee chair, and the WAC representative for the National SAAC. Katie finished her intercollegiate golf career first on the Bronco's career list with 21 top 25 finishes. In 2007, she received the Boise State Top Ten Scholar award and was the tenth Boise State student-athlete to receive a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Katie was a four-year awardee of the National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team and WAC Academic All-Conference.
Katie has returned to her home state and is currently working on
her Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership degree at
Seattle University, which she will complete this spring. Katie
plans to continue her career in collegiate athletics upon
completion of the program.
