NWC Women's Basketball Player of the WeekFeb. 20NWC Player of the Week: Lizzy Washburn (Whitman, Sr., F, Mundelein,
Ill.) led the Missionaries to a pair of wins that earned Whitman a share
of third place and the conferences final playoff spot. She scored
44 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, missing back to back double-doubles
by one board. Feb. 13NWC Player of the Week: DeeDee Arnall (Pacific, Sr., F, Warrenton,
Ore. - Warrenton) scored 51 points in two games, including 31 points in
a win at Willamette. She added 18 rebounds. Feb. 6NWC Player of the Week: DeeDee Arnall (Pacific, Sr., F, Warrenton,
Ore. - Warrenton) scored 76 points in three games, including a career-high
tying 38 points against George Fox. She made 51% of her shots and 85%
of her free throws. She added 37 rebounds, posting a pair of double-doubles. Jan. 30NWC Player of the Week: Emily Hendrickson (Whitworth, So., F,
Valleyford, Wash. - Freeman HS) led Whitworth in scoring in a pair of
victories that moved the Pirates into a tie for third place. She had 36
points and 11 rebounds while shooting 60% from the floor and 90% from
the free throw line. Jan. 23NWC Player of the Week: Crystal Castle (L&C, So., G, Rocklin,
Calif. - Rocklin) led the Pioneers to a couple of key NWC victories with
39 points and 23 rebounds last weekend. She made 59% of her shots from
the field. Jan. 16NWC Player of the Week: Allison
Farr (L&C, So., F, Lakeport, Calif. - Clear Lake HS) made 67% of her
shots to finish with 41 points in two weekend contests. She was 20 of
30 from the field in the two games, and she added 13 rebounds. Jan. 9NWC Player of the Week: Patricia Buckingham (PLU, So., W, Port
Angeles, Wash. - Port Angeles) led the Lutes to the early lead in the
NWC after scoring 37 points on 71.4% shooting from the field (15-21) in
key home wins over UPS and Linfield. She added nine rebounds and four
assists. Jan. 2NWC Player of the Week: Holly Ridings (Whitworth, So., G, Spokane,
Wash. - Shadle Park HS) led the Pirates to a 2-0 record at the Quality
Inn - Whit Classic. She was named the tournament MVP after scoring 40
points and adding 15 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dec. 23NWC Player of the Week: Kilty Keaton (UPS, Sr., G, Sumner, Wash.
- Auburn-Riverside) was named MVP of the Caltech Classic after leading
the Loggers to a pair of victories. She totaled 35 points, including 9/16
baskets from three point range, to go along with 13 rebounds and three
assists. Dec. 12NWC Player of the Week: Kezia Long (PLU, Jr., P, Federal Way,
Wash. - Thomas Jefferson) led the Lutes to a pair of victories by averaging
17.5 points and 10 rebounds per game. She shot 63% from the field and
added four steals. Dec. 5NWC Player of the Week: Casey Stepan (Linfield, So., G, Vancouver,
Wash. - Mountain View) scored a career high 23 points in a win over Whitman,
then scored the game-winning basket vs. Whitworth (she had seven points).
She added seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals in the two games. Nov. 28NWC Player of the Week: Robin Taylor (George Fox, Jr., W, Bend,
Ore.-Mountain View) was named MVP of the D3 in Hawaii Hoops Classic after
scoring 31 points (55% shooting) with eight rebounds, seven assists and
three steals. She led the Bruins to the team title. Nov. 21NWC Player of the Week: Nikki Johnson (PLU, Jr., G/W, Tenino,
Wash. - Centralia JC) was the MVP of the Redlands Tip Off after scoring
25 points and grabbing 21 rebounds in two wins. |
