Whitman got two hits and a run from Ozzy Braf and a two-run blast from Kyle Moyes as the Whits overcame 3-0 hole to defeat Hardin-Simmon 7-4.

Trevor Lubking picked up the pitching victory and both Alec Beal and Dominick Courcy had three hits on Saturday as Pacific Lutheran beat Redlands, 7-4, in an Arizona Desert Classic baseball game played at Boulder Creek High School.

It couldn't have gone any better for the Puget Sound baseball team in a dominating 12-0 win over NCAA Division II St. Martin's in Saturday's season-opener. Christian Carter and Jeff Walton combined to drive in nine runs while Matt Robinson and Jarrod Beiser combined for the shutout on the mound.

Tyler Pfeffer drove in eight runs to lead visiting Whitworth to a win and a tie in a non-conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday at California Lutheran University. The Pirates won the opener 13-8 and the second game finished 7-7 when darkness forced the game to end after nine innings.

Continuing his torrid start to the season, Timothy Williams stroked a two-run double to key a four-run 5th inning that broke a 1-1 tie and sent the George Fox University Bruins to their third consecutive baseball win, a 9-3 victory over the University of La Verne Leopards in the Arizona Desert Classic Saturday here at Boulder Creek High School.
