The Puget Sound baseball team completed a season-opening sweep of NCAA Division II St. Martin's on Sunday with wins of 5-4 and 16-9 in a doubleheader. The Loggers (3-0) came from behind in both games, including a two-run ninth in the early game to sneak out with the win.

Linfield 8, Concordia 1
Zach Brandon (Jr., Cottage Grove, Ore.) became the third consecutive Linfield starter to last six innings, and the bats of Nate McClellan (Jr., Shoreline, Wash.) and Kramer Lindell (Jr., West Linn, Ore.) carried Linfield to its third straight victory in an 8-1 preseason win over 16th-ranked Concordia-Texas Sunday morning at Surprise Stadium, site of the Texas Rangers’ spring training.

Pacific Lutheran had a strong finish to its appearance at the Arizona Diamond Classic on Sunday, beating Whittier, 7-3, to finish with three wins and one loss in the Division III baseball tournament.

Pomona-Pitzer 5, Whitworth 0
Three errors led to four unearned runs as visiting Whitworth fell 5-0 at Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday morning in the finale of the Pirates' four-game season-opening swing through Southern California.
