the Loggers to the team victory, by covering the 8 kilometer course in
25:49.4. NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Carla McHattie (L&C,
Sr., St. Paul, Minn.-Central) lead the Pioneers to a team victory at the
Lewis & Clark Open by winning the six kilometer race in 22:26.4, setting
a new meet record. Oct. 10NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Carla McHattie (L&C,
Sr., St. Paul, Minn.-Central) set a new course record (22:03.5) while
winning at PLU and leading the Pioneers to a team victory. NWC Mens Runner of the Week: Doug Blackburn (Whitworth,
Sr., Evansville, Ind.-Evansville North) was the top NWC and collegiate
runner at the PLU Invitational, covering the 8 kilometer course in 26:18.9
and leading the Pirates to the team title. Oct. 3NWC Mens Runner of the Week: Frank Prince (UPS, Sr., Port
Angeles, Wash.-Port Angeles) was the top Northwest Conference finisher
at the Willamette Invitational, covering the 8 kilometer course in 24:48.35.
He took ninth overall, 25 seconds behind the winner. NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Tamma Carleton (L&C,
Fr., Elk, Calif.-Mendocino) was the top Northwest Conference runner in
the womens competition at Willamette, taking 10th place in 18:20.68
over five kilometers and setting a new Pioneer record for the distance. Sept. 26NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Tamma Carleton (L&C,
Fr., Elk, Calif.-Mendocino) edged teammate Carla McHattie at the tape
to win the Linfield Invite, running the 6 kilometer course in 23:02. NWC Mens Runner of the Week: Ty Mears (L&C, Sr., Duluth,
Minn.-East) won the Linfield Invitational by 20 seconds, covering the
8 kilometer course in 26:46. Sept. 19NWC Mens Runner of the Week: Nick Symmonds (Willamette,
Jr., Boise, Idaho-Bishop Kelly) finished second overall, only ten seconds
behind the winner, at the Sundodger Invitational. He covered the 8 kilometer
race in 24:49, leading the Bearcats to a team victory. NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Carla McHattie (L&C,
Sr., St. Paul, Minn.-Central) finished 7th of 265 runners at Sundodger,
covering 6 kilometers in 22:17. She was the top NWC finisher in the meet
and was only 34 seconds behind the winner. Sept. 12 NWC Womens Runner of the Week: Joanna Murphy (Linfield,
Jr., Onalaska, Wash.) won the womens race at the L&C Invitational,
covering the 6 kilometer course in 22:20.7, nine seconds ahead of second
place. NWC Mens Runner of the Week: Jake Moe (George Fox, Jr.,
Anchorage, Alaska) finished third at the Lewis & Clark Invitational,
running the 8 kilometer course in 26:00.9. He was the top NWC finisher
in the race. Sept. 5NWC Mens Runner of
the Week: Doug Blackburn (Whitworth, Sr., Evansville, Ind./North)
won the Whitman Invitational by nearly six seconds over his closest pursuer
from NCAA Division II Northwest Nazarene, covering six kilometers in 19:22.88. NWC Womens Runner
of the Week: Carla McHattie (Lewis & Clark, Sr., St. Paul, Minn./Central)
defeated 58 other runners at the Boxer Rebellion, running six kilometers
in 22:49.77 and finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of second place.
She led the Pioneers to the team title in the meet. |
