Lewis & Clark 41, Macalester 17
The Lewis & Clark football team scored 41 consecutive points to take down the Macalester Scots 41-17 at Griswold Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Pioneers to 3-0 on the season and hands the Scots (3-1) their first loss of the year.
Whitworth 17, Chapman 14
Chapman's potential game-tying field goal with no time left on the clock went wide left, allowing Whitworth to hold on for a 17-14 win in its 2012 home-opening football game on Saturday afternoon at the Whitworth Pine Bowl.
Willamette 51, Pacific 17
Willamette improved to 3-0 on the season, while Pacific fell to 1-2. Although both teams are members of the Northwest Conference, the game was a non-conference contest. Willamette and Pacific will play a Northwest Conference game on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Forest Grove, Ore.
Whittier 55, Puget Sound 24
A couple of notable performances were turned in but the Puget Sound football team fell 55-24 to Whittier in its home-opener on Saturday. Adam Kniffin became Puget Sound's all-time leader in receiving yards, Kupono Park had his first career 100-yard effort on the ground and Connor Savage had two of the three interceptions in the game.
