2007 NWC Golf Student-Athletes of the Week

April 16

Men's Player of the Week: Matt Taylor (Linfield, Jr., Twin Falls, Idaho - Kimberly) was the medalist at the Linfield Invite on April 11th, shooting a single round score of 74. He defeated 20 other players.
Honorable Mention: Ben Bryant (Willamette, So.)

April 9

Men's Player of the Week: Andrew Fitch (Linfield, So., Redmond, Ore. - Redmond) earned medalist honors at the NWC Spring Classic with a two round score of 145, three strokes ahead of the next two finishers.
Honorable Mention: Jordan Carter (Whitworth, Jr.); Brian Misterek (PLU, Sr.); Dan Cashmere (Pacific, So.).

April 2

Women's Player of the Week: Emily Lau (UPS, Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii - Punahou) clinched a spot on the 2006-07 All-NWC Women's Golf Team by earning medalist honors at the NWC Spring Classic. She led the Loggers to the team title as well.
Honorable Mention: Leslie Wheeler (Linfield, Sr.); Whitney Ueno (Willamette, So.); Kelly Hartley (Pacific, Jr.).

March 26

Women's Player of the Week: Leslie Wheeler (Linfield, Sr., Reedsport, Ore. - Reedsport) won the Pacific Invitational with a two-round score of 77-84 - 161. She was the only player with a round of sub-80 in the tournament.
Honorable Mention: Whitney Clunes (George Fox, Fr.); Whitney Ueno (Willamette, So.).

Men's Player of the Week: Jason Casey (PLU, So., University Place, Wash. - Curtis), competing as an at-large competitor, won medalist honors at the Pacific Invitational with a two-round score of 77-71 - 148. He also placed second at the Willamette Invitational with a two-round score of 74-78 - 152.
Honorable Mention: Tim Bartz (UPS, So.); Taryn Braseth (Pacific, Jr.); Ben Bryant (Willamette, So.).

March 19

Women's Player of the Week: Emily Lau (UPS, Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and Whitney Ueno (Willamette, So., Hilo, Hawaii) shared medalist honors at the Willamette Invitational with two-round scores of 155, two strokes ahead of third place.
Honorable Mention: Kristal Pitkonen (Whitworth, Fr.); Angela Grossklauss (PLU, Jr.); Jasmine Ching (Pacific, Fr.).

March 12

Women's Player of the Week: Emily Lau (UPS, Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) won the UPS Invitational with a two-round score of 158, beating a field of 20 players by nine strokes.
Honorable Mention: Leslie Wheeler (Linfield, Sr.).

Men's Player of the Week: Kyle Henderson (Linfield, Jr., Salem, Ore. - Silverton) tied for medalist honors at the UPS Invite, but was named winner by a scorecard playoff. He shot a two-round score of 149 (77-72).
Honorable Mention: Chris Packard (PLU, Jr.); Ben Bryant (Willamette, So.).

March 5

Women's Player of the Week: Leslie Wheeler (Linfield, Sr., Reedsport, Ore. - Reedsport) won the inaugural George Fox Women's Invitational with a score of 87, defeating 14 other players and winning by two strokes.
Honorable Mention: Emily Lau (UPS, Sr.).
