WOODBURN, Ore. – With the top three scorers, including medalist Sam Hinton who shot a 70=74=144 to edge Kenneth Sheldon by one stroke, the Willamette Bearcats rolled to an 18-shot victory over Whitworth with a 295-294=589 in the Willamette Spring Thaw that concluded Saturday.

WOODBURN, Ore. – Led by Sam Hinton's two-under-par 70, Willamette posted a first-day score of 295 on Friday and has a seven-shot lead over Whitworth in the Willamette Spring Thaw, while Linfield's Logan Davis had the day's highlight with a hole-in-one on the 158-yard 17th hole.
