NWC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 16-22

After missing the two previous games to injury, Michaels returned with two stellar games, leading Whitman to a pair of big road wins at Whitworth and Willamette. He averaged 21 points in the two games, shooting 73.3% from the floor (11-15 fg), 80% from the 3-point line (4-5 3pt), and 84.2% from the free throw line (16-19 ft), and 4.5 rebounds. Michaels scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half as Whitman rallied past Whitworth and sparked the decisive run with nine straight points and two rebounds. He had 16 of his 22 points in the first half against Willamette, helping Whitman establish a 14-point lead that continued to grow in the second half.
