Friday's Men's Soccer Recap

Pacific Lutheran 1, Hamline 0
Junior goalkeeper Joe Rayburn and the Pacific Lutheran defense recorded a shutout as the Lutes opened their 2012 men's soccer season with a 1-0 victory over host Hamline in Friday's opening day of the Twin Cities Soccer Kickoff Classic.

Whitworth 0, Augsburg 0 2OT
Despite dominating possession and shots over the final 65 minutes of play, Whitworth had to settle for a 0-0 season-opening men's soccer draw on Friday afternoon at Hamline University.

Puget Sound 2, St. Thomas 2 (Minn.)
The Puget Sound men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie on Friday on its 2012 season opener against St. Thomas. Colin McIntosh scored the equalizer in the 87th minute to help secure the tie.

Linfield 2, Oregon Tech 1
Linfield rookie Jake Baker converted a game-winning penalty kick as Linfield started the 2012 season with a bang, claiming a 2-1 victory over visiting Oregon Tech Friday morning at the Linfield soccer field.

Mississippi Col. 4, Willamette 1
Mississippi College scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to extend a 2-1 lead into a 4-1 victory over Willamette University on Friday, Aug. 31.
