Saturday's Men's Soccer Recap

Pacific Lutheran 5, George Fox 0
Pacific Lutheran opened defense of its Northwest Conference men's soccer championship on Saturday with a 5-0 victory over the visiting George Fox Bruins on East Field. 

Whitworth 2, Linfield 0
Will Wren headed in a pair of goals to lead 16th-ranked Whitworth to a 2-0 win over visiting Linfield on Saturday in the Northwest Conference men's soccer opener for both schools. 

Puget Sound 2, Pacific 1
A pair of second half goals came just minutes apart to give the Puget Sound men's soccer team a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Pacific in their Northwest Conference opener on Saturday.  Landon Gauthier scored both goals for the Loggers (4-1-1, 1-0-0 NWC) for their fourth straight win. 

Willamette 0, Whitman 0 (2OT)
Willamette University goalkeeper Brayden Calder (Fr., Philomath, OR/Philomath HS) achieved four saves to help the Bearcats tie Whitman College, 0-0 in two overtimes, on Saturday, Sept. 15. Calder's efforts preserved the tie despite Whitman gaining a 12-7 edge in total shots, including a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
