Weekend Men's Soccer Recap

Sunday, Oct. 7

Puget Sound 3, St. John's (Minn.)
Taking a break from Northwest Conference play, the Puget Sound men's soccer team was able to get back in the win column with a 3-1 win over visiting St. John's (Minn.) on Sunday. Six different Loggers recorded at least one point in the contest as they broke a three-match winless streak.

 

Saturday, Oct. 6

Willamette 3, Linfield 2
Trevor Jensen scored three goals for Willamette, and the Bearcats beat Linfield 3-2 in a Northwest Conference match Saturday afternoon at the Linfield soccer field. 

George Fox 5, Pacific 3
Scoring the first "hat trick" of his career, sophomore forward Luke Hammer notched two first-half goals and another in the second half, leading the George Fox University Bruins past the Pacific University Boxers 5-3 in a Northwest Conference men's soccer shootout here Saturday afternoon at the Austin Sports Complex. 

Whitworth 1, Whitman 0 (2OT)
Robby Ubben knows when to score.  The sophomore forward's goal with just under five minutes left in the second overtime period lifted 11th-ranked Whitworth to a hard-fought 1-0 win over visiting Whitman in a Northwest Conference men's soccer match on Saturday afternoon. 

 

Friday, Oct. 5

Puget Sound 2, Pacific Lutheran 2 (2OT)
Battling into the night and under the lights Friday night, Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound ended their Northwest Conference men's soccer showdown in a 2-2 double overtime tie at PLU's East Field. 

 

Thursday, Oct. 4

Saint John's (Minn.) 2, Linfield 0
A pair of lightning-quick goals sparked Saint John's to a 2-0 victory over Linfield Thursday night at the Linfield soccer field.
