Pacific Lutheran made it two straight wins to open the season as
the Lutes defeated the visiting Pacific Boxers, 5-4, in a Northwest
Conference men's tennis match played Saturday afternoon at Sprinker
Tennis Center.
Whitman 7, Willamette 2
The #13 Whitman men's tennis team started its NWC title defense
with a resounding 7-2 victory over the Willamette University
Bearcats. Though the Bearcats are currently ranked 19th in the West
region, the Missionaries squashed any thoughts of an upset
early.
George Fox 6, Whitworth 3
Rallying to win five of six singles after dropping two of the
doubles, the George Fox University Bruins opened the Northwest
Conference portion of their men’s tennis season with a 6-3
win over the Whitworth University Pirates Saturday in a match begun
at the GFU campus courts and finished at the Tualatin Hills Tennis
Center in Beaverton.
Lewis & Clark 7, Linfield 2
Sandwiching their only points at the top of the doubles ladder and
the bottom of the singles order, the Linfield Wildcats were
defeated 7-2 by the Lewis & Clark Pioneers Saturday in a
Northwest Conference men’s tennis match at the Linfield
Tennis Center.
