SUNDAY, FEB. 12

Puget Sound 2-4, at Occidental 1-5 (1st 8 inn.)

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Amber Popovich doubled in a run and later scored on a wild pitch in the 8th inning, giving Puget Sound a 2-1 opening-game win Sunday at Occidental, but the host Tigers came back to defeat the Loggers 5-4 in the nightcap for a twinbill split.

Whitworth 8-3, at Chapman 0-10 (1st 5 inn.)

LA VERNE, Calif. – The Whitworth Pirates throttled Chapman 8-0 as Madi Perez only two hits in the five-inning opener, but the Panthers pounded out 14 hits and broke loose for six runs in the sixth inning to take a 10-3 victory in the nightcap for a split of their doubleheader Sunday at La Verne.

at Whittier 6-2, Lewis & Clark 2-1

WHITTIER, Calif. -- Lisa Kumasaka did her best to keep Lewis & Clark in both game by going 6-for-8 on the day, but the visiting Pioneers dropped both games of their doubleheader to the Whittier Poets on Sunday at Palmer Field, 6-2 in the first game and 2-1 in the second.

Corban 9-7, at Willamette 4-2

SALEM, Ore. - Corban earned nine hits in the first game and recorded 11 hits in the second game and the visiting Warriors held Willamette to only eight hits on the day in taking a pair of wins 9-4 and 7-2 on Sunday at the WU Softball Field in the Bearcats' first games of the season. 

SATURDAY, FEB. 11

Corban 9-9, at Pacific (Ore.) 1-5 (1st 5 inn.)

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – After getting three-hit in a 9-1 five-inning opening-game loss, the Pacific Boxers came back with 10 hits in the nightcap to make it closer but still dropped a 9-5 decision to the visiting Corban Warriors of the NAIA Saturday afternoon at Sherman/Larkins Stadium.

Puget Sound 5-0, Chapman 3-8 (2nd 5 inn.)

LA VERNE, Calif. – Jaci Young hit her first home run of the season and Jessica Gott went the distance as Puget Sound defeated Chapman 5-3 in the first game of a twin bill Saturday at La Verne, but the Panthers shut out the visiting Loggers 8-0 in five innings in the second game for a split.

FRIDAY, FEB. 10

Puget Sound 5-2, at Pomona-Pitzer 0-5

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Jaci Young fired a five-hit shutout with two strikeouts and only one walk as Puget Sound blanked Pomona-Pitzer 5-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday, but the host Sagehens came back with 12 hits in the second game and defeated the Loggers 5-2 for a split.

Whitworth 5-6, at Whittier 2-4

WHITTIER, Calif. – A six-run fifth inning rally lifted the Whitworth Pirates from a four-run deficit to a 6-4 win over the host Whittier Poets in the second game of a doubleheader, completing a sweep after the visitors had taken the opening game 5-2 Friday at Palmer Field.

at Biola 4-8, Lewis & Clark 1-1

LA MIRADA, Calif. – Held to only six hits and two runs all day, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers found that to be too little offensively against the Biola Eagles of the NAIA as they dropped a doubleheader Friday at Eagles Diamond, 4-1 in the first game and 8-1 in the second.

THURSDAY, FEB. 9

Whitworth 4-4, at California Lutheran 2-3

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Whitworth Pirates scored three in the first and added another in the second to overtake the host California Lutheran Regals 4-2 in game one, and followed that up with a 4-2 win on two RBIs from Shannon Wessel in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. 

MONDAY, FEB. 6

at Redlands 5-6, George Fox 4-9

REDLANDS, Calif. – A six-run rally in the top of the 7th, highlighted by a Savannah Vargas three-run home run and all with two out, gave the George Fox Bruins a stunning 9-6 win over Redlands and a doubleheader split after the host Bulldogs had taken the opener 5-4 Monday afternoon.
