NWC Women's Soccer Players of the WeekOct. 6Offense- Mikaela Freeman (Puget Sound, Fr./F Alameda, Calif./Bishop O’Dowd) scored four goals in a breakout weekend as the #4 Loggers picked up a pair of wins at home. Defense – Sally Page (George Fox, Jr./GK Salem, Ore./Sprague) posted her fifth and sixth shutouts of the season in a pair of wins this weekend over Pacific Lutheran and Linfield. Sept. 29 Offense- Janece Levien (Puget Sound, Jr./ F Beaverton, Ore./Beaverton) Scored three of the Loggers five goals this weekend as the #5 Loggers stay undefeated. Defense – Kallie Wolfer (Puget Sound, Jr./GK Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) helped her team to a 2-0 week with three saves and a shutout.s Sept. 22Offense- Corina Gabbert (Whitman, Jr./F Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel School) booted her first college hat trick to power the Missionaries past Linfield, completing a Whitman weekend road sweep. Gabbert now leads the NWC in scoring. Defense – Erin Ichimura (Pacific, So./GK Wailuku, Hawaii/Baldwin) posted three shutouts over the week as the Boxers evened their record to 3-3-0. Ichimura did not allow a goal against 28 shots against and held strong as the Boxers outlasted Lewis & Clark and previously unscored upon L&C keeper Kate MacDougall in double overtime. In the process, Ichimura, who is playing her first season of collegiate soccer, lowers her goals against average to 0.97 for the season. Sept. 15Offense- Jenny McKinsey (George Fox, Jr. F Spokane, Wash./Central Valley) scored two game-winning goals, one on a penalty kick to beat the Oregon Institute of Technology and one 39 seconds into the game against Eastern Oregon University. Defense – Kate MacDougall (Lewis & Clark, Fr. Danvile, Calif./Monte Vista accumulated 15 saves in two games this week that helped the Pioneers to two 0-0 ties. Sept. 8Offensive- Janece Levien (Puget Sound, Jr./F Beaverton, Ore./Beaverton) showed her talent this weekend, scoring three goals in a pair of games along with an assist. Defensive – Liska Havel (Lewis & Clark, Jr./D Wilamina, Ore./McMinnville) was a big part of keeping Cascade without a shot in the Pioneers 1-0 victory this week |
