NWC Softball Players of the WeekApril 28NWC Player of the Week: Jenny Marshall (Linfield, Sr., 2B, Sherwood, Ore. - Sherwood) batted .563 (9 for 16) in four games last week with a double and a triple. She drove in seven runs and scored four. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Rachel Wheeler-Hoyt (PLU, So., RHP, Puyallup, Wash. - Rogers) went 2-0 over the weekend, allowing four runs (two earned) on nine hits in a pair of complete-games. She struck out seven and walked five. April 21NWC Player of the Week: Nicole Wallace (Willamette, So., C/2B, Roseville, Calif. - Roseville) sparked the Bearcat offense by batting .474 (9 for 19) with a double and a home run. She scored eight runs and drove in five in six games. She also stole three bases in three attempts. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Brittany Miller (Linfield, Sr., RHP, Port Orchard, Wash.) shut out Pacific 1-0 in Sunday’s first game, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking only one. April 14NWC Player of the Week: Brooke Toy (Pacific, Fr., 1B, Drain, Ore. - North Douglas) batted .875 (7 for 8) with three doubles in three games. She drove in five runs and scored five more, and also was perfect on three steal attempts. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Brittany Miller (Linfield, Sr., RHP, Port Orchard, Wash.) went 4-0 in three starts and one relief appearance. Miller posted a 0.29 ERA, allowing one run in 24 innings. She struck out 41 batters and walked only one. April 7NWC Player of the Week: Marissa Richards (Willamette, Jr., 1B, Newberg, Ore. - Newberg) batted .571 (8 for 14) in four weekend wins. She drove in eight runs and scored seven with three doubles, a triple and three home runs. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Nikki Franchi (Willamette, Jr., RHP, Los Gatos, Calif. - Saratoga) went 3-0 in three appearances. She allowed one run and six hits in 17 innings, striking out 36 batters and walking only four. March 31NWC Player of the Week: Amanda Attleberger (Linfield, Sr., 1B, Vancouver, Wash. - Columbia River) batted .583 (14 for 24) in eight games, leading the Wildcats to a 7-1 record. She drove in 15 runs and scored five, adding two home runs and a double. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Brittany Miller (Linfield, Jr., RHP, Port Orchard, Wash. - South Kitsap) went 4-0, including wins over #5 Redlands and #15 Chapman. She allowed 2 runs (one earned) on five hits in 21.0 innings (0.33 ERA) with 25 strikeouts and four walks. March 24NWC Player of the Week: Hillary Rice (UPS, So., OF, St. Paul, Minn.) batted .688 (11 for 16) with a double. She drove in three runs and scored five times in six games. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Brittany Miller (Linfield, Jr., RHP, Port Orchard, Wash. - South Kitsap) threw a nine-inning shutout against Oregon Tech, allowing only three hits while striking out 14 batters and walking three. March 17NWC Player of the Week: Nikki Franchi (Willamette, Jr., Util., Los Gatos, Calif. - Saratoga) went 5 for 6 to lead the Bearcats to a doubleheader sweep of PLU. Three of the hits were doubles and she drove in four runs and scored three times. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Miranda McNealy (Pacific, So., Aloha, Ore. - Hillsboro) went 2-0 and did not allow a run in 11 innings against L&C. She struck out 19 batters and walked four. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Nikki Franchi (Willamette, Jr., RHP, Los Gatos, Calif. - Saratoga) went 2-0, allowing one run (unearned) in nine innings with 18 strikeouts and only two walks. March 3NWC Player of the Week: Jenny Marshall (Linfield, Sr., 2B, Sherwood, Ore. - Sherwood) hit .577 (15 for 26) in six games, with 10 runs batted in and 11 runs scored. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Hadley Schmitt (PLU, So., Forest Grove, Ore. - Gaston) went 2-0 with two complete games, allowing only two runs (0 earned) on eight hits. She struck out 13 and walked six. Feb. 25:NWC Player of the Week: Caitlin Mastenbroek (Pacific, Sr., C, Scio, Ore. - Scio) batted .545 (12-22) with 10 runs batted in and eight runs scored. She had five doubles, a triple and a grand slam. NWC Pitcher of the Week: Nikki Franchi (Willamette, Jr., RHP, Los Gatos, Calif. - Saratoga) earned a win and a save in two appearances.
