In a Northwest Conference women's swimming dual
between a pair of unbeaten teams, it was Pacific Lutheran that came
up with a statement win over the visiting Whitman Missionaries at
the PLU Pool.

Linfield 109, Lewis & Clark 90 (Men)
The Pioneers took on Linfield in Zhentbauer pool Friday evening,
splitting the meet with the Wildcats. The Lewis & Clark
women took down Linfield 116-89, while the Pioneer men couldn't
quite close the deal with the meet breaking for the Wildcats
109-90.

Freshman Gavin Nash (Fr., Cottage
Grove, Ore.) broke a the 500-yard freestyle record as the Pacific
swim team claimed a dual victory over Willamette on Friday evening
at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
Whitworth 125, Puget Sound 80

Whitworth 118, Puget Sound 87 (Men)
Abby Pavelko and Alisa Stang each won two events to
lead the Whitworth women to a 125-80 win at Puget Sound in a
Northwest Conference swimming dual meet on Friday
night. Kyle Wicks won twice to lift the Pirate men
over the Loggers 118-87.

Willamette 101, Lewis & Clark 97 (Men)
The Willamette University men's swimming team trailed by
three points entering the final event, but the Bearcats won the
400-yard freestyle relay by a sizable margin to earn a 101-97
victory over Lewis & Clark College on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the
WU Natatorium. In the women's competition, L&C defeated
Willamette, 140-65.

After taking it to Willamette yesterday, the Pacific swimming team
collected another Northwest Conference dual victory over Linfield
on Saturday afternoon at Linfield's Aquatic Center.
Whitworth 139, Pacific Lutheran 66

Whitworth 151, Pacific Lutheran 54 (Men)
Whitworth remained unbeaten in Northwest Conference men's and
women's swimming action on Saturday afternoon by sweeping aside
Pacific Lutheran at the PLU pool. The Whitworth men,
winners of 10 straight conference championships, improved to 6-0
with a 151-54 victory over the Lutes, while the Whitworth women
handed PLU its first loss of the season by a 139-66
count.

Senior Ava Williams turned in a pair of event wins to lead the
Puget Sound swim teams on Senior Day at Wallace Pool. The day
started with the recognition of the Loggers 10 seniors but ended
with a pair of losses as Whitman swept the dual meet.
