Whitman 69, Linfield 58
All five starters scored in double figures tonight as the Whitman
Women's Basketball team pulled away from a feisty Linfield squad to
win 69-58 at the Sherwood Center.
Whitworth 69, Willamette 50
Freshman KC McConnell scored 14 points and
grabbed six rebounds to keep the Whitworth women's basketball team
undefeated at home with a 69-50 win over the visiting Willamette
University Bearcats on Friday evening in Whitworth
Fieldhouse.
Lewis & Clark 69, Pacific Lutheran
37
The #8 Lewis & Clark women's basketball team defeated the
Pacific Lutheran Lutes 69-37 on Friday night in Northwest
Conference action. The Pioneers were paced by 16 points
from Sara Villanueva and 10 points and 11
rebounds from Kristina Williams.
George Fox 63, Puget Sound 57
Jami Roos poured in a game-high 15 points, all in the
second half, including four three-pointers as the 23rd-ranked
George Fox University Bruins dispatched the University of Puget
Sound Loggers 63-57 to keep pace in the Northwest Conference
women’s basketball race Friday night here at the Wheeler
Sports Center’s Miller Gym.
Saturday, Jan. 19
Whitman 72, Willamette 41
The Lady Missionaries shot 65 % from the field in the
first half and employed a harassing defense in beating Willamette
72-41 tonight at the Sherwood Center. Every member of the line-up
saw double-digit minutes as Whitman improves to 6-2 in the NWC and
13-3 overall. Willamette is now 0-7 in conference and 0-16 on the
season.
Whitworth 69, Linfield 64
The Whitworth women's basketball team held off a late run by
Linfield College to defeat the Wildcats 69-64 on Saturday afternoon
in Whitworth Fieldhouse. Whitworth, which improves to 12-5 overall,
5-3 in the Northwest Conference, gave head coach Helen Higgs her
275thwin as head coach of the Pirates.
Linfield falls to 1-12 on the season, 0-7 in league
play.
Pacific (Ore.) 72, Puget Sound 66

The Pacific women's basketball team hitched on to an impressive
performance from Heather
Hitch (Sr., Enumclaw, Wash.) as the Boxers claimed
a 72-66 overtime victory over Puget Sound on Saturday evening at
the Stoller Center.
George Fox 59, Pacific Lutheran 34
Cruising past the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes 59-34 Saturday
night here at the Wheeler Sports Center’s Miller Gym, the
George Fox University Bruins moved into a tie for first in the
Northwest Conference women’s basketball race and set up a
showdown next Friday with Lewis & Clark College for sole
possession of the top spot.
