Whitworth 55, Puget Sound 49
A tough, defensive struggle went to the visitors on Friday as the
Puget Sound women's basketball team fell 55-49 to Whitworth. The
Pirates (13-5, 6-3 NWC) used a 10-0 run to start the second half to
key the win.
Pacific (Ore.) 67, Willamette 55
Senior forward Paige Jensen of Pacific University, scored 14 of her
16 points in the second half to help the Boxers secure a 67-55
victory over Willamette University on Friday, Jan. 25 at Cone Field
House. The Boxers improved to 12-5 on the season, 5-4 in the NWC,
while Willamette dropped to 1-17 overall, 1-8 in the
NWC.
Whitman 64, Pacific Lutheran 57
After a slow and predominantly defensive first half Friday night,
Whitman's offensive strength in the second half helped it take
home a 64-57 Nothwest Conference women's basketball win over
Pacific Lutheran in Olson Auditorium.
Lewis & Clark 64, George Fox 59
A torrid second half by Tayler Wang, who scored 17 points in the
period and 19 in all, enabled the Lewis & Clark College
Pioneers to take sole possession of first place in the Northwest
Conference women’s basketball race with a 64-59 victory over
the George Fox University Bruins Friday night here at the Wheeler
Sports Center’s Miller Gym.
