The #10 Lewis & Clark women's basketball team clinched its
first ever outright Northwest Conference Regular Season
Championship on Saturday night with a 79-53 win over
Pacific Lutheran.
Whitworth 66, Willamette 53
Whitworth University sank 20 of 23 free throws and scored 15 points
off turnovers, as the Pirates defeated Willamette University,
66-53, on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Cone Field House. Emily Travis made
9 of 11 free throws and scored a game-high 23 points for the
Pirates, while Kendra Lahue added 18 points and hit 6 of 7
three-point shots.
Whitman 67, Linfield 53
Heather Johns turned in a game-high 19 points for visiting Whitman
as the Missionaries maintained a steady lead through the closing
minutes and held off host Linfield 67-53 in a NWC matchup Saturday
evening inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
George Fox 71, Puget Sound 53
The Puget Sound women's basketball team fell 71-53 to George Fox on
Saturday in the final game of the 2012-13 season. The Loggers
(14-11, 7-9 NWC) celebrated the careers of Sarah
Stewart, Lindsay
Layland and Kelsey McKinnis prior
to the game.
