Pacific Lutheran reached the halfway point of the Northwest Conference season Friday night with an unblemished record after beating the visiting George Fox Bruins, 25-17, 25-23, 25-17, on Olson Auditorium's Names Family Court.
Pacific 3, Whitworth 2
The Whitworth volleyball team came from behind to go up two sets to one on Pacific (Ore.), but the Pirates fell short in the fifth set and the Boxers won 25-15, 13-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13. Whitworth falls to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in Northwest Conference play. Pacific improves to 6-9 overall, 5-2 in the NWC.
Willamette 3, Lewis & Clark 1
The Lewis & Clark volleyball team won its opening set against Willamette on Friday night in Northwest Conference action, but were unable to hold off the Bearcats the rest of the way. After winning the first set 25-23, the Pioneers fell 25-16, 25-22, 25-23.
Whitman 3, Linfield 1
Overcoming a 1-0 deficit in sets, the Whitman Missionaries combined 18 attacks and 12 digs from Jillian Davis with 44 assists from setter Rachel Cline for a four-frame Northwest Conference victory over the Linfield Wildcats Friday night inside Sherwood Center.
