Oct. 16
NWC Women's Runner of the Week: Sarah Zerzan
(Willamette, Jr., San Carlos, Calif. - Notre Dame) won the Mike
Hodges Invitational hosted by Clackamas CC, covering the course
(just short of 5k) in 16:25.11, leading the Bearcats to a second
place team finish.
Honorable Mention: Tamma Carleton (L&C, So.); Emily Timmer
(UPS, Fr.); Julie Lauterbach (Whitworth, Sr.); Sara McCune
(Whitman, Fr.); Shana Shosky (Pacific, Sr.); Rachel Giffey-Brohaugh
(George Fox, Jr.).
NWC Men's Runner of the Week: Trevor Hanlin
(UPS, Jr., Grants Pass, Ore. - Grants Pass) finished second overall
at the L&C Pioneer Open, running the 8k race in 25:28.7,
leading the Loggers to a team win.
Honorable Mention: Ian Batch (Willamette, Jr.); Jake Moe (George
Fox, Sr.); Kellen Peters (Pacific, So.); Brian Woods (Whitman,
Jr.).
Oct. 9
NWC Men's Runner of the Week: Harrison Wilson
(Linfield, Jr., Portland, Ore. - Sunset) won the PLU Invitational,
covering the 8k course in a new meet record time of 25:14.
Honorable Mention: Yancy Lawrence (L&C, So.); Jacob Dietz
(Whitworth, Jr.).
NWC Women's Runner of the Week: Julie
Lauterbach (Whitworth, Sr., Arnold, Calif. - Bret Harte) won the
PLU Invitational, running the 6k race with a time of 21:58.8,
coming from behind over the last 1,500 meters. She led the Pirates
to a team victory.
Honorable Mention: Joanna Murphy (Linfield, Sr.); Amanda Phillips
(L&C, Jr.).
Oct. 2
NWC Women's Runner of the Week: Sarah Zerzan
(Willamette, Jr., San Carlos, Calif. - Notre Dame) won the college
division (Cardinal) race at the Charles Bowles Invitational,
covering the five kilometer course in 17:11 and defeating 297 other
runners. She led the Bearcats to a second place team finish.
Honorable Mention: Tamma Carleton (L&C, So.); Brittany Hodgson
(UPS, Jr.); Shana Shosky (Pacific, Sr.); Yasmeen Colis (Whitman,
Fr.).
NWC Men's Runner of the Week: Ian Batch
(Willamette, Jr., Eagle, Idaho - Capital) finished 11th of 305
runners in the Cardinal (college-division) 8 kilometer race at
Willamette's Charles Bowles Invitational. He ran the course in
24:54.05 and was the top finisher among NWC runners, leading the
Bearcats to a sixth place team finish.

(UPS, Jr.); Jake Moe (George Fox, Sr.); Kellen Peters (Pacific,
So.); Yancey Lawrence (L&C, So.); Sam Clark (Whitman, Sr.).

Sept. 18
NWC Men's Runner of the Week: Kellen Peters
(Pacific, So., Forest Grove, Ore. - Forest Grove) was the top NWC
racer in the men's open competition at the Sundodger meet, covering
the eight kilometer course in 24:58. He finished 7th and became the
first Boxer to break 25 minutes in 30 years.
Honorable Mention: Dan Pollard (UPS); Jake Moe (George Fox, Sr.);
Yancey Lawrence (L&C, So.); Sam Clark (Whitman, Sr.).
NWC Women's Runner of the Week: Tamma Carleton
(L&C, So., Elk, Calif. - Mendocino) was the top NWC runner at
the Sundodger Invitational Open race, finishing 7th overall. She
ran the six kilometer course in 22:03.
Honorable Mention: Brittany Hodgson (UPS, Jr.); Julie Lauterbach
(Whitworth, Jr.); Shana Shosky (Pacific); Sara McCune (Whitman,
Fr.); Whitney Warren (George Fox, Sr.).
Sept. 11
NWC Women's Runner of the Week: Sarah Zerzan
(Willamette, Jr., San Carlos, Calif.) finished third overall at the
Pier Park Preview, hosted by the University of Portland. She
finished behind only a pair of runners from the University of
Oregon, covering the 5 kilometer course in 18:24.28.
Honorable Mention: Tamma Carleton (L&C, So.); Francis Corcorran
(Linfield, Fr.); Anna McLain (GFU, Jr.); Sara McCune (Whitman,
Fr.).
NWC Men's Runner of the Week: Harrison Wilson
(Linfield, Jr., Portland, Oregon) finished third overall at the
Lewis & Clark Invitational, posting the best result by an NWC
competitor and leading the Wildcats to the team victory. He ran the
race in 26:28.50.
Honorable Mention: Yancey Lawrence (L&C, So.); Brian Woods
(Whitman, Jr.); Ian Batch (Willamette, Jr.); Jake Moe (GFU, Sr.).
