Castillo completed the Men's Cardinal 8K race at the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational in 24:36.55 to take 11th place overall out of 161 competitors. He was the top NCAA Division III finisher. He helped Willamette finish 5th in the team standings, which was the top finish by a Division III team.
