Weekly Honors Fall to Duncan, Shiramizu

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The NWC Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week honors fell to Karlee Duncan of Pacific (Ore.) and Caylie Shiramizu of Pacific Lutheran, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Duncan (So., Bend, Ore.) picked up NWC Volleyball Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after starting her sophomore season with a pair of double-double performances to lead the Boxers to a 2-1 mark at the Oregon Trail Classic. Duncan had just one double-double in her opening season at Pacific. Duncan averaged 4.70 kills and 3.70 digs per set; plus, she had a .302 hitting percentage to go along with six blocks. 

Shiramizu (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) was named to the Puget Sound Premiere All-Tournament Team after helping the Lutes to four wins over the weekend. Shiramizu led Pacific Lutheran on defense with 72 digs, with 5.14 per set. Shiramizu also recorded seven service aces in four matches.
