NWC Men's Cross Country - 09.06-09.11

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Willamette’s Hannah Swanson and Michael Montague were named NWC Cross Country Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Swanson (Sr., Seattle, Wash.) seventh place out of 113 runners at the Ash Creek Preserve Invitational on Sept. 8. She finished with a time of 16:54.0 over the 4.6-kilometer course. Five of the six runners in front of Swanson were from NCAA Division II Simon Fraser, which won the women's title, and one runner was from NCAA Division II Alaska-Anchorage. 

Montague (So., San Diego, Calif.) placed 13th out of 109 runners at the Ash Creek Preserve Invitational on Sept. 8. His time for the 6.2-kilometer course was 19:21.1. Ten of the 12 runners in front of him were from NCAA Division II teams, one was from the NAIA and one was from the NJCAA. The Bearcats placed 5th in the team standings.
