NWC Football Defensive - 09.26-10.02

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Linfield’s J.D. Lasswell and Jason Farlow, and Lewis & Clark’s Obed Eriza were named Northwest Conference Football Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Lasswell (Jr., Corvallis, Ore.) impressed for the Wildcats, with three receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns. The senior receiver took an early 63-yard streak for a touchdown in the second quarter to extend Linfield's one-point lead to 14-6. He later capped the Wildcats scoring with a 37-yard jump ball catch for a score to finish the day against the No.14 Whitworth Pirates, 38-9.

Farlow (Sr., Ventura, Calif.) dominated from his linebacker position with a game-high 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and one pass breakup against No. 14 Whitworth's No.1 ranked offense in Division III football. Farlow controlled the center of the field and helped limit the Pirates offense to 98 rushing yards and only 267 passing yards in a 38-9 victory.

Eriza’s (Fr., Madras, Ore.) 33-yard field goal as time expired gave the Pioneers a 24-21 win over Willamette, Lewis & Clark's first "Wagon Wheel" rivalry win since 2000. The left-footed freshman's career-long field goal is the third-longest among NWC kickers this season. Eriza also went 3 for 3 on PATs and averaged 58.3 yards per kickoff as Willamette only started one drive in Lewis & Clark territory.
