Douglas, Skibiel earn NWC weekly laurels

HILLSBORO, Ore. — Middle blockers Madison Douglas of Whitworth and Danielle Skibiel of Pacific Lutheran have been named Northwest Conference Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Douglas (So., Newbury Park, Calif.), the Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, led the Pirates in blocks over the weekend, averaging 1.14 blocks per set as the Pirates topped Pacific 3-1 and Linfield 3-0. Douglas added 14 kills to her statline on the weekend.

Skibiel (So., Snohomish, Wash.) averaged 3.0 kills per set as the Lutes topped Puget Sound and George Fox by matching scores of 3-0. Skibiel added 11 total blocks to her line on the defensive side, to go along with her 18 total kills.
