HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Northwest Conference is proud to announce Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 31st.
Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week – Cassidy Daugherty, Puget Sound (Jr., W)
Daugherty (Sammamish, Wash.) recorded 20 points while going 6-for-7 from behind the arc in 28 minutes of play as the Loggers claimed a 96-87 win over Chapman. The junior alsoscored 18 points and hit 4 3-pointers in a win against Whittier. Between two Logger wins, Daugherty totaled 38 points and 10 3-pointers.
Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week – Ben College, Whitworth (Jr., G)
College (Portland, Ore.) was selected as the MVP of the D3hoops.com Classic after leading the Pirates to victories over Johns Hopkins and Emory & Henry. That came after he scored 28 points in Whitworth’s record-setting win over Concordia-Chicago when the Pirates scored 143 to break the old mark of 123 in one game. In three games he made 55.6 percent of his shots from the floor, 42% of his three-pointers and all 16 free throws. He added ten assists and three steals.
