NWC Teams Featured in National and Regional Weekly Polls

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Several NWC teams rank nationally and regionally in this week's polls, with Willamette men's soccer making their first appearance in national rankings.

Willamette men's soccer ranks 22nd nationally in this week's United Soccer Coaches Association (USCA) weekly coaches' poll. The Bearcats post an overall record of 9-0-1 (7-0 NWC) and are third in the USCA West Region poll behind Trinity University and U-T Tyler.

With a 4-0 overall record (2-0 NWC) and first-place conference standing alongside Puget Sound, Whitworth football ranks 22nd in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) coaches' poll with 232 points. The Pirates also rank 19th in this week's D3football.com coaches' poll with 179 points.

Pacific Lutheran volleyball ranks 14th nationally in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) coaches' poll with 777 points. The Lutes are currently 14-2 overall (7-1 NWC) and tied for first with Puget Sound and Whitworth in conference standings.

Pacific Lutheran men's soccer joins Willamette in the USCA West Regional poll this week, placing 10th. The Lutes are currently 9-4 overall (5-2 NWC) and have won their last three NWC contests.

Willamette women's soccer ranks fourth in this week's USCA West Regional poll, garnering an overall record of 8-0-2 (6-0-2 NWC). Whitworth sits three spots behind the Bearcats in seventh with an 6-2-2 overall record (5-1-2 NWC) with their only conference loss to Willamette. Puget Sound ranks eighth with a 6-4-2 overall record (5-1-2 NWC), falling only to the Bearcats in conference play.  

Four men's cross country teams rank regionally in this week's USTFCCCA West Regional poll. George Fox ranks fifth, with Willamette one spot behind in sixth. Pacific Lutheran claims ninth, and Whitworth sits one behind in 10th.

Four women's cross country teams also rank regionally in this week's USTFCCCA West Regional poll. All four teams rank one behind the other, with Willamette ranking sixth, Whitworth seventh, Puget sound eighth, and Pacific (Ore.) ninth.
