Student-Athlete Spotlight: Pacific Lutheran's Jordan Brajcich

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Pacific Lutheran’s Jordan Brajcich (Mill Creek, Wash.) is a member of the men’s golf team. After competing at the 2018 NCAA Championship and winning the Northwest Conference Fall Classic, the sophomore proves to be an essential piece to the Lutes program.

“The experience I’ve had as a member of the men’s golf team at PLU has been exciting and rewarding,” says Brajcich. “We’ve had a lot of success in the short time I’ve been here and it’s given us the opportunity to compete at a very high level. We have a very strong bond as a team and It’s made competing a lot more enjoyable.” The Lutes boasted the best finish in program history in the 2018 season after placing 16that the NCAA Championship.

Brajcich describes a defining moment in his collegiate career as winning the NWC Fall Classic this past fall. “I felt like I played really well that weekend and it really boosted my confidence for the rest of the year. It validated a lot of the hard work I have put in this season and I’m excited to finish the season strong.” A 2018 All-NWC second team honoree as a freshman, Brajcich is poised to help lead the Lutes as they seek their third consecutive NWC Spring Classic and NWC Championship titles in the upcoming weeks.

“I think I’ve developed a lot of skills as a student athlete, but the biggest one would have to be time management,” says the business major. “Between classes, practice, and competition, you really have to be on top of your schedule. It was beneficial for me playing multiple sports in high school because I learned how to manage my time wisely.”

Brajcich credits the level of competition in the NWC for helping him improve as a student-athlete. “Being an athlete in NWC means I have the opportunity to compete against a lot of tough competition. I think the coaches in our conference give each athlete a great opportunity to improve and succeed as well.”

Brajcich says his role model is his father, saying “he has been so supportive of me throughout my life and he’s taught me what it truly means to be a competitor. Growing up, he introduced me to many different sports and that ultimate led me to be a multi-sport athlete in high school. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my dad.”

Brajcich and the Lutes will return to the green to seek a three-peat at the NWC Spring Classic April 13thand 14th.
