HILLSBORO, Ore. --- The Northwest Conference had a strong representation of student-athletes at the 2018 NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships, recording a large number of All-Americans and three individual national champions. Details of the top performances can be found below.

George Fox

George Fox capped off its historic performance at the Outdoor Championships with a first-ever National Championship in the women's 4x100m relay and five podium medals.  Sarah KingKennedy TaubeSara Turner and Lis Larsen  blew away the competition with a time of 46.55. Their time breaks their own school record of 46.89.

For the second straight season, George Fox's Seth Nonnenmacher won the men's javelin to repeat as a National Champion at the 2018 NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Nonnenmacher uncorked a throw of 241-11.50 (73.75m) in his first attempt to all but seal up the 10 points for the Bruins. His throw breaks his own George Fox school record of 234-06, moves him up to third all-time on the NCAA Div. III list and marks the largest throw by an athlete in all divisions in the Northwest.  With his record-breaking throw, Nonnenmacher has officially qualified to compete at the 2018 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships June 21-24. The javelin competition is set for Saturday, June 23 at 12:10 pm (PDT).

Whitworth

For Whitworth, Kayla Leland and Kayla Brase each finished as a national runner-up on the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, leading Whitworth's women to a top-ten team finish.

Leland was the runner-up in the 3,000 meter steeplechase while Brase finished second in the triple jump. Marissa Mount finished fourth in the steeplechase, giving the Pirates three more All-Americans on Saturday.

The Pirate men scored 10 points overall, thanks to a pair of All-America finishes from Andrew Bloom (3rd in the javelin) and Nick McGill (5th in the decathlon) on Friday.  Whitworth tied with seven other schools for 31st place in the final standings.

Pacific Lutheran

Pacific Lutheran’s Machaela Graddy closed out her collegiate career as the nation's best, winning the national title in the javelin by a comfortable margin in day one of the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The senior became PLU's first female individual national champion since joining the NCAA and the first female national champion since Corie Krueger won the NAIA title in the hammer throw in 1997. An All-American in both soccer and track & field, Graddy additionally becomes the Lutes' first national champion in the javelin since Carol Wester won the NAIA title at the 1986 Championships.

Lauren Wilson became the second Lute to earn All-American honors with a fourth place finish in the high jump as well.

Carson Ketter competed in his second and final event of the championships, finishing 15th overall in the 100-meter dash after clocking a time of 11.00 seconds. Friday's sprint wrapped up a stellar career for the two-sport athlete. Ketter was an All-NWC defensive back on the football team this fall and leaves campus as an NWC Champion in both the 100-meters and 4x100-meter relay while owning the second fastest times in school history in both the 100-meters and 200-meters.

Linfield

Linfield College's Kaelia Neal and Emma Knudson both ran strategic races, using their closing finishes to place among the top eight in the women's 1,500-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two seniors each were accorded NCAA All-America honors

Lewis and Clark

Jake La Grand competed for the Pioneers in the Javelin, finishing 15th overall in his first national meet as a freshman.
