HILLSBORO, Ore. – Three Northwest Conference men’s basketball student-athletes have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District team.

Whitman’s Austin Butler was named to the first team, with teammate Joey Hewitt earning a second team selection. Butler earns this recognition in addition to NWC Player of the Year and D3hoops.com All-West Region honors for his outstanding senior campaign. He led the conference in both assists per game (4.3) and total assists (99). 

Hewitt was also named to the All-NWC first team and D3hoops.com All-West Region second team, leading the conference in steals per game (2.09) and total steals (48) and helping lead the Blues to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. This is Hewitt’s second consecutive NABC All-District second team honor.

Whitworth’s Kyle Roach was also named to the second team. Roach earns his second NABC All-District first team honor after being named the West District Player of the Year in 2018, in addition to being named an NABC All-American. The senior ranked first in the conference in minutes played (905) and fourth in total points (511) this season.

The NABC All-District teams recognize the best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division, selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III.
