Lutes fifth in second NCAA Regional Ranking of 2017

FULL NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS — The second NCAA Division III Volleyball Regional Rankings of the 2017 season were released on Wednesday, and the Pacific Lutheran Lutes find themselves in the West Region Rankings for the second straight week.

The Lutes moved up a spot to No. 5 after debuting last week in the initial West Region Rankings at No. 6. Pacific Lutheran sits atop the Northwest Conference standings and boasts an in-division record of 18-4 on the season. The Lutes hold a 3-2 record against ranked opponents in 2017, with wins against St. Thomas (3-0), Clarkson (3-1) and Cal Lutheran (3-0). Cal Lutheran was the No. 11 team in the country at the time of Pacific Lutheran's victory over the Regals.

Pacific Lutheran sports an in-division strength of schedule of 0.558, which is the third highest in the NWC.

The Lutes look to clinch the Northwest Conference volleyball title this week with a home match against Puget Sound tonight and a Friday road trip to George Fox.
