HILLSBORO, Ore. – Two Northwest Conference student-athletes have received American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-Region honors, the AVCA announced on Thursday.
Whitworth’s Jessica Schmautz (Spokane, Wash.) was named to the AVCA All-Region team after a standout senior season. Schmautz led the Northwest Conference in overall kills per set (4.21) and overall kills (413) and is currently ranked 14th nationally in kills per set and 26th nationally in kills. The senior received five NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honors throughout the season and was named the NWC Player of the Year. Schmautz helped lead the Pirates to a 19-8 overall record and a second-place finish in conference standings.
Pacific’s Milana Ivkovic (Beaverton, Ore.) is an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention selection after leading the NWC in overall hitting percentage (.366) and leading the Boxers in kills (269) and kills per set (2.91). Ivkovic received a NWC Student-Athlete of the Week honor and was named to the All-NWC First Team. The junior helped lead the Boxers to an 18-8 overall record and a third-place finish in NWC standings.
